Is it powered?+
No. This is a manual lift bollard. You raise and lower it by hand and a key lock holds it in position. There is no motor, no hydraulics and no controls to commission, which is why it costs a fraction of an automatic rising bollard and has far less to go wrong.
Retractable or removable?+
Retractable when the post has nowhere to go. It drops into its own casing and sits flush, so nothing has to be carried to a store room and nothing goes missing. Removable when you would rather lift the post out entirely and cap the sleeve. Removable costs less; retractable is easier on staff who open the same entry every day.
What does installation involve?+
An in-ground casing set into the surface, which means excavation and a thought about where water drains. That is more work than bolting a fixed bollard down, so it is worth confirming the location suits it before you specify. Send a photo and we will tell you.
How is it secured?+
A key lock in the top holds the bollard raised. The same lock releases it to retract. Keep the top clear of grit. An in-ground unit needs the surround kept clean to keep working smoothly.
Will it stop a truck?+
No. This is an access control and deterrent product for the applications described here. It is not crash-rated. If your project requires certified anti-ram performance to ASTM F2656 or IWA 14-1, we will say so and refer you to a rated manufacturer.
